There is an app on Fdroid that works as a client. Copy and paste is only way now.

I'm surprised that U didn't receive any reply to your question. Because it is good & necessary. I can't answer you properly myself: I'm not very specialized in this issue. But I can say that if such a lack of reactivity keeps being the usual way to respond alternative social networking will never expand at the same level than Facebook the Internet free mind killer.
